PROJECT OVERVIEW

From Planning to Successful Delivery

This project involved a full renovation of an existing athletic grandstand complex and music room facilities for Holdrege Public Schools. RMV served as the general contractor, managing a compressed schedule that demanded precise coordination across multiple trade scopes in an active school environment.

Scope included renovation of 3,800 SF of interior music room space and full demolition and replacement of the existing athletic grandstand with a new 1,500-seat prefabricated structure and press box, delivered over a single summer school break window.

The project was completed during a period of significant disruption. COVID-era supply chain constraints created material availability challenges throughout the construction window, and a major rain event required emergency soil remediation mid-project. RMV managed both without a schedule extension and delivered final completion in August 2020 within $2,604 of the original contract value.

That near-zero variance between the original and final contract value on a project complicated by a pandemic and a weather emergency is not an accident. It reflects the discipline RMV brings to every project from the day preconstruction begins.

WHY IT MATTERS

WHY THIS PROJECT IS RELEVANT

This project demonstrates what RMV does when conditions change and the schedule cannot. A pandemic, a weather emergency, and a compressed summer school deadline, all on a single project. RMV delivered on time and within $2,604 of the original contract value. That is not a coincidence. It is the result of preconstruction discipline, proactive communication, and a team that does not look for reasons a project cannot be done.
